In Memory of
H.M. King Harald V
The Board and staff of the Norsk Folkemuseum Foundation wish to express our deep sorrow at the passing of His Majesty King Harald V. Our thoughts go out to H.M. King Haakon VIII, Queen Sonja and the entire Royal Family.
H.M. King Harald V had a strong connection to the foundation’s work and was a cherished guest at the museums. We will particularly remember the King’s interest in culture and nature, and his commitment to making history and cultural heritage accessible to people today.

Spectacular shipwreck discovery in the Skagerrak
An 18th-century sailing ship carrying a historic cargo of Chinese porcelain and other trade goods has been discovered in Norwegian waters. The shipwreck contains the best-preserved cargo of its kind ever found in Northern Europe.
The extraordinary discovery, known as the Porcelain Shipwreck, lies at a depth of 600 metres in the Skagerrak strait off the Norwegian coast.
