Outdoor Exhibition: Svalbard - The New Land

This year marks the 100th anniversary of Svalbard becoming part of Norway, expanding the country’s territory by 20%. To commemorate this milestone, we’re presenting a unique outdoor exhibition at Bygdøy, next to the Boat Hall at the Norwegian Maritime Museum.

In collaboration with award-winning comic artist Ida Larmo, we’ve created a vivid and engaging narrative about how this came to be, what it has meant, and why it still matters to Norway today.

The exhibition is free and located outside the Norwegian Maritime Museum at Bygdøy next to the Boat Hall. It is a joint project between the Svalbard Museum and the Norwegian Maritime Museum.
