The museum can be opened outside of regular hours for larger groups and events. Only by special appointment. The library is open by appointment only.

Save with a Combined Ticket at Bygdøynes
Visitors planning to see more than one museum at Bygdøynes can save 10% by purchasing a combined ticket for the Norwegian Maritime Museum, the Fram Museum, and the Kon-Tiki Museum.
Combined tickets are available at the visitor center of the Norwegian Maritime Museum and at all participating museums. The ticket is valid for 2 days. Prices are subject to change.

Practical information
Accessibility and Practical Information
- All our exhibitions have step-free access. In the Boat Hall, there is an elevator available between the 1st and 2nd levels.
- Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the visitor center if needed.
- Lockable lockers are available on DECK 1.
- Restrooms with changing tables/accessible facilities can be found on DECK 1 near the cloakroom and on DECK 3 near the exhibition "Voyages with the Chief and Sally Jones" in the children's area.
Food and Drink
- Café Fjord is located at the museum entrance and is open every day during museum hours.
- During the summer months, packed lunches can be enjoyed on the covered Fjord Terrace.
- Outside food and drink are not allowed inside our exhibitions.
How to find us
The Museum is located at the peninsula Bygdøy, ca. 8 km from downtown Oslo. There is public transport both by bus and boat.
Bus:
- Line 30: Nydalen-Jernbanetorget-Bygdøynes. Departures every 10 minutes. Check schedules at ruter.no.
Ferry:
- March 22 - October 6: The Bygdøy Ferry departs from Rådhusplassen (Rådhusbrygge 3). The journey takes 10 minutes. See schedules.
Bike or On Foot:
- Pedestrian and bicycle path from the city center (along the waterfront) via Frongnerkilen, Kongsgården to Bygdøynes.
- City bikes are available at Bygdøynes (during the summer season).
- Bike parking available on site.
Car:
- From E18 or Bygdøy Allé, take the exit to Bygdøy. Follow signs to the Maritime Museum.
- Private parking (APCOA), HC parking.
- Street parking in the area. HC parking and bus parking between Fram and Gjøabygget.
