Guided tours for groups

The Norwegian Maritime Museum offers a variety of educational tours of our exhibitions. Offers may vary, depending on season and exhibit availability. Tours of the museum can be personalized towards special interests upon request. Contact us to discuss how we can create a unique maritime experience for your group!

Prices for guided tours of the museum's exhibitions

We charge a group price of 90NOK per person in addition to the guiding fee. We can provide an invoce by request. Guests that has been given a tour of the museum, are welcome to go on their own in the exhibitions after.

Group of up to 20 people NOK 1500
Group of up to 30 people* NOK 2000
Guided tours on evenings or weekends
Evening visits / extended openings per hour NOK 750
Group of up to 20 people NOK 4000
Group of up to 30 people* NOK 4500

* Groups of over 30 people will be split up. We offer half price on tour number two.

Group price without guided tour > 10 people NOK 90 pp

Practical information

Accessibility
The museum building is handicap accessible. However, please let us know if anyone in your group will require any special assistance. The more we know ahead of time, the better we can help you plan your visit.

 

Payment methods
We accept payment with cash, credit/debit card or by invoice.

For payment by invoice, please make sure you supply us with the correct billing address when booking your tour. 

Arrival
Please check in at our visiting centre on arrival. Our museum guides will meet your group by the counter.

Food and drinks
For large groups, please let us know if you would like to eat lunch in our café when you book your visit. It is possible to pre-order lunch as well as welcome-drinks ahead of your visit to the museum.

TransportationThe Norwegian Maritime Museum is located at the far end of the Bygdøy peninsula (Bygdøynesveien 37). Take bus number 30 and get off at the BYGDØYNES stop outside the Kon-Tiki museum. For groups arriving with a chartered bus, there is a dedicated parking lot for busses right next to the museum. During the summer season (17 March – 15 October), you may also take the museum ferry no. 91 from the city hall (Rådhusplassen) to Bygdøynes.

Guided tours and activities must be booked at least two weeks prior to your visit.
