Every day during the autumn break: 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30
Along the entire Norwegian coast, there is no pilot braver than Sea Sara. Even the toughest sailors do not dare head out to sea before she gives the all-clear. Now she needs help from brave little seafarers to keep a lookout for both scary and friendly sea monsters, making sure the waters are completely safe.

Join the workshop and build your own vessel capable of sailing unharmed through the Bermuda Triangle.

Do we need to buy tickets in advance?
We recommend purchasing your admission ticket online in advance to avoid queues, but tickets can also be bought at the visitor center upon arrival.
How much does it cost to join the activities?
All children get free admission to the museum! Most activities (the monster hunt with Sea Sara, escape room, drawing workshop, and the sea monster trail) are completely free. If you want to build a ghost ship in the Children's Boat Workshop on Sundays, the kit costs NOK 75 per boat.
Are the activities available in English?
The interactive session with Sea Sara and the escape room are held in Norwegian. However, all the other activities — such as the creative workshops and finding the sea monsters around the museum — are visual, hands-on, and can easily be enjoyed regardless of language!
Do we need to sign up or book a spot for Sea Sara in advance?
The activity with Sea Sara is free, but requires a seat ticket due to limited capacity. You pick this up at the visitor center when you arrive at the museum (first-come, first-served).
What age group is Sea Monster Week suitable for?
The activities are suitable for the whole family! The youngest enjoy the monster hunt with Sea Sara, the drawing workshop, and the monster trail through the museum. The museum's escape room is best suited for curious children between approx. 7 and 13 years old together with adults.
Are the activities too scary for young children?
No, the experiences are designed as fun and exciting adventures tailored for families with children. You will meet both friendly and slightly spooky sea monsters in a safe environment.
Can we bring a stroller and eat at the museum?
Yes! The museum is stroller-accessible. In Kafé Fjord, you will find child-friendly food (like Kraken sausages!) and high chairs available.
What is the easiest way to get to the museum, and is there parking?
The museum is located at Bygdøynesveien 37 on Bygdøy.
Bus: Route 30 runs every 10 minutes all year and stops right outside the museum.
Ferry: The Bygdøy ferry from City Hall Pier 3 (Rådhusbrygge 3) takes only 10 minutes (departures every 20 minutes).
Car: Follow signs to Bygdøynes. Paid parking (APCOA) and accessible parking spaces are available at the museum.
Bicycle/Walking: Dedicated bicycle parking and an Oslo City Bike station are located right outside.
